It happened, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Yehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and kill them; let none come forth. They struck them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Ba`al.


then Moshe stood in the gate of the camp, and said, *Whoever is on the LORD's side, come to me!* All the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him.


The sons of Levi did according to the word of Moshe: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.


Moshe said, *Consecrate yourselves today to the LORD, yes, every man against his son, and against his brother; that he may bestow on you a blessing this day.*


To the others he said in my hearing, Go you through the city after him, and strike: don't let your eye spare, neither have you pity;


Moshe said to the judges of Yisra'el, Kill you everyone his men who have joined themselves to Ba`al-Pe`or.


*If anyone comes to me, and doesn't hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he can't be my talmid.


Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Messiah after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.


You shall stone him to death with stones, because he has sought to draw you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
