God made the expanse, and divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so.


The LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did to Sarah as he had spoken.


Behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, *I am the LORD, the God of Avraham your father, and the God of Yitzchak. The land whereon you lie, to you will I give it, and to your seed.


He blessed Yosef, and said, *The God before whom my fathers Avraham and Yitzchak did walk, the God who has fed me all my life long to this day,


Yosef said to his brothers, *I am dying, but God will surely visit you, and bring you up out of this land to the land which he swore to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Ya`akov.*

God saw the children of Yisra'el, and God was concerned about them.

The angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.


Moreover he said, *I am the God of your father, the God of Avraham, the God of Yitzchak, and the God of Ya`akov.* Moshe hid his face; for he was afraid to look at God.


Moshe answered, *But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say, 'The LORD has not appeared to you.'*


Moshe and Aharon went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Yisra'el.


The people believed, and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Yisra'el, and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.


*That they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers, the God of Avraham, the God of Yitzchak, and the God of Ya`akov, has appeared to you.*


Then the chief Kohanim, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the Kohen Gadol, who was called Kayafa.


*Blessed be the Lord, the God of Yisra'el, for he has visited and worked redemption for his people;


and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn't know the time of your visitation.*


which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hands of Bar-Nabba and Sha'ul.


Shim`on has reported how God first visited the nations, to take out of them a people for his name.


From Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called to himself the elders of the assembly.
