It happened, when Ya`akov saw Rachel the daughter of Lavan, his mother's brother, and the sheep of Lavan, his mother's brother, that Ya`akov went near, and rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the flock of Lavan his mother's brother.


When the inhabitants of the land, the Kena`anim, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, *This is a grievous mourning by the Egyptians.* Therefore, the name of it was called Avel-Mitzrayim, which is beyond the Yarden.


When they came to Re`u'el, their father, he said, *How is it that you have returned so early today?*


He said to his daughters, *Where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.*
