The LORD appeared to Avram and said, *I will give this land to your seed.* He built an altar there to the LORD, who appeared to him.


He left from there to the mountain on the east of Beit-El, and pitched his tent, having Beit-El on the west, and `Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD.


Avraham called the name of that place the LORD Will Provide. As it is said to this day, *On the LORD's mountain, it will be provided.*


He erected an altar there, and called it El-Elohe-Yisra'el.


You have given a banner to those who fear you, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.


Moshe wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Yisra'el.
