You came down also on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and mitzvot,


and made known to them your holy Shabbat, and commanded them mitzvot, and statutes, and a law, by Moshe your servant,


Moshe said to them, *Let no one leave of it until the morning.*


*Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your handmaid, and the alien may be refreshed.


Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Shabbat of solemn rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the day of Shabbat shall surely be put to death.


neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the day of Shabbat holy, neither do any work: but make the day of Shabbat, as I commanded your fathers.

*Observe the day of Shabbat, to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you.
