I will make of you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great. You will be a blessing.


The LORD brought him outside, and said, *Look now toward the sky, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.* He said to Avram, *So shall your seed be.*


He said, *I am God, the God of your father. Don't be afraid to go down into Egypt, for there I will make of you a great nation.


Yosef placed his father and his brothers, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Ra`meses, as Par`oh had commanded.


Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. They built storage cities for Par`oh: Pitom and Ra`meses.


Moshe said, *We will go with our young and with our old; with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast to the LORD.*


They took their journey from Sukkot, and encamped in Etam, in the edge of the wilderness.

*Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Yisra'el, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, every male, one by one;

These are those who were numbered of the children of Yisra'el by their fathers' houses. All who were numbered of the camps according to their armies were six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty.


These are those who were numbered of the children of Yisra'el, six hundred one thousand seven hundred thirty.


They traveled from Ra`meses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the next day after the Pesach the children of Yisra'el went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians,


The children of Yisra'el traveled from Ra`meses, and encamped in Sukkot.
