Notwithstanding, the king's word prevailed against Yo'av, and against the captains of the army. Yo'av and the captains of the army went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Yisra'el.


most certainly as I swore to you by the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, saying, Assuredly Shlomo your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne in my place; most certainly so will I do this day.


King Shlomo sent by Benayah the son of Yehoiada; and he fell on him, so that he died.


So the king commanded Benayah the son of Yehoiada; and he went out, and fell on him, so that he died. The kingdom was established in the hand of Shlomo.
