Now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.


There were gathered to him worthless men, base fellows, who strengthened themselves against Rechav`am the son of Shlomo, when Rechav`am was young and tender-hearted, and could not withstand them.


Tzidkiyahu was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Yerushalayim:


Yo'achaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Yerushalayim.


Yehoiakim was Twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Yerushalayim: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God.


Yehoiakim was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months and ten days in Yerushalayim: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.


A tyrannical ruler lacks judgment. One who hates ill-gotten gain will have long days.


The labor of fools wearies every one of them; for he doesn't know how to go to the city.


As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. My people, those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths.


House of David, thus says the LORD, Execute justice in the morning, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my wrath go forth like fire, and burn so that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
