It happened, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Avraham, and sent Lot out of the middle of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot lived.


If you, the LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?


and might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that didn't make their hearts loyal, whose spirit was not steadfast with God.


It shall be, when the LORD shall bring you into the land of the Kena`ani, and the Chittite, and the Amori, and the Chivvi, and the Yevusi, which he swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep this service in this month.


Go, and gather the elders of Yisra'el together, and tell them, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Avraham, of Yitzchak, and of Ya`akov, has appeared to me, saying, *I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt;


Moreover he said, *I am the God of your father, the God of Avraham, the God of Yitzchak, and the God of Ya`akov.* Moshe hid his face; for he was afraid to look at God.


Remember Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yisra'el, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them, 'I will multiply your seed as the stars of the sky, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.'*


The Righteous One considers the house of the wicked, and brings the wicked to ruin.


Do not abhor [us], for your name's sake; do not disgrace the throne of your glory: remember, don't break your covenant with us.


In those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the iniquity of Yisra'el shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Yehudah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I leave as a remnant.


then I will remember my covenant with Ya`akov; and also my covenant with Yitzchak, and also my covenant with Avraham; and I will remember the land.


but I will for their sake remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am the LORD.'*


I prayed to the LORD, and said, Lord GOD, don't destroy your people and your inheritance, that you have redeemed through your greatness, that you have brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.


lest the land whence you brought us out say, Because the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promised to them, and because he hated them, he has brought them out to kill them in the wilderness.


Please don't let my lord regard this worthless fellow, even Naval; for as his name is, so is he; Naval is his name, and folly is with him: but I your handmaid didn't see the young men of my lord, whom you did send.
