that your generations may know that I made the children of Yisra'el to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.'*


Then Zerubbavel, the son of She'alti'el, and Yehoshua, the son of Yehotzadak, the Kohen Gadol, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD, their God, and the words of Chaggai, the prophet, as the LORD, their God, had sent him; and the people feared the LORD.


You fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.


Know you this day: for I don't speak with your children who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his outstretched arm,


Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and your foreigner who is within your gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law;
