Yes, forty years did you sustain them in the wilderness, [and] they lacked nothing; their clothes didn't grow old, and their feet didn't swell.


He rained down manna on them to eat, and gave them food from the sky.


and I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.


Moshe was eighty years old, and Aharon eighty-three years old, when they spoke to Par`oh.


Your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your prostitution, until your dead bodies be consumed in the wilderness.


Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.


It happened in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moshe spoke to the children of Yisra'el, according to all that the LORD had given him in mitzvah to them;

He humbled you, and allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you didn't know, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD does man live.


Your clothing didn't grow old on you, neither did your foot swell, these forty years.


and these wineskins, which we filled, were new; and behold, they are torn: and these our garments and our shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey.


and old and patched shoes on their feet, and old garments on them; and all the bread of their provision was dry and was become moldy.
