When your people Yisra'el are struck down before the enemy, because they have sinned against you; if they turn again to you, and confess your name, and pray and make supplication to you in this house:


Nevertheless they shall be his servants, that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.


I was angry with my people, I profaned my inheritance, and gave them into your hand: you did show them no mercy; on the aged have you very heavily laid your yoke.


You, even of yourself, shall discontinue from your heritage that I gave you; and I will cause you to serve your enemies in the land which you don't know: for you have kindled a fire in my anger which shall burn forever.


so that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which you have committed; therefore is your land become a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.


Behold, I watch over them for evil, and not for good; and all the men of Yehudah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.


It shall happen, when you shall say, Why has the LORD our God done all these things to us? then shall you say to them, Like as you have forsaken me, and served foreign gods in your land, so shall you serve strangers in a land that is not yours.


The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand; They are knit together, they are come up on my neck; he has made my strength to fail: The Lord has delivered me into their hands, against whom I am not able to stand.


Yehudah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude; she dwells among the nations, she finds no rest: all her persecutors overtook her within the straits.


The tongue of the sucking child cleaves to the roof of his mouth for thirst: The young children ask bread, and no man breaks it to them.


Say now to the rebellious house, Don't you know what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Bavel came to Yerushalayim, and took the king of it, and the princes of it, and brought them to him to Bavel:

and they shall deal with you in hatred, and shall take away all your labor, and shall leave you naked and bare; and the nakedness of your prostitution shall be uncovered, both your lewdness and your prostitution.


Therefore thus says the LORD: *Behold, I am planning against these people a disaster, from which you will not remove your necks, neither will you walk haughtily; for it is an evil time.


Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.


[They shall be] wasted with hunger, and devoured with burning heat and bitter destruction. I will send the teeth of animals on them, With the poison of crawling things of the dust.
