They struck the remnant of the `Amaleki who escaped, and have lived there to this day.


After these things King Achashverosh promoted Haman the son of Hammedata the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes who were with him.


So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordekhai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.


The LORD said to Moshe, *Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Yehoshua: that I will utterly blot out the memory of `Amalek from under the sky.*


He said, *The LORD has sworn: 'The LORD will have war with `Amalek from generation to generation.'*


He said, *My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.*


for you haven't yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God gives you.


his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall surely bury him the same day; for he who is hanged is accursed of God; that you don't defile your land which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance.

So Yehoshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD spoke to Moshe; and Yehoshua gave it for an inheritance to Yisra'el according to their divisions by their tribes. The land had rest from war.


It happened after many days, when the LORD had given rest to Yisra'el from all their enemies round about, and Yehoshua was old and well stricken in years;


You shall compass the city, all the men of war, going about the city once. Thus shall you do six days.


Therefore the children of Yisra'el can't stand before their enemies; they turn their backs before their enemies, because they are become accursed: I will not be with you any more, except you destroy the devoted thing from among you.


He did valiantly, and struck the `Amaleki, and delivered Yisra'el out of the hands of those who despoiled them.


David and his men went up, and made a raid on the Geshuri, and the Gizri, and the `Amaleki; for those [nations] were the inhabitants of the land, who were of old, as you go to Shur, even to the land of Egypt.
