I will pay my vows to the LORD, yes, in the presence of all his people,


Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Elyon.


It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication, then later to consider his vows.


But we will certainly perform every word that is gone forth out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Yehudah, and in the streets of Yerushalayim; for then had we plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.


*Speak to the children of Yisra'el, and say to them, 'When a man makes a vow, the persons shall be for the LORD by your valuation.


When a man vows a vow to the LORD, or swears an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.


*Again you have heard that it was said to them of old time, 'You shall not make false vows, but shall perform to the Lord your vows,'


When it was day, some of the Judeans banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Sha'ul.


Therefore don't yield to them, for more than forty men lie in wait for him, who have bound themselves under a curse neither to eat nor to drink until they have killed him. Now they are ready, looking for the promise from you.*


But if you shall forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in you.


When you come into your neighbor's vineyard, then you may eat of grapes your fill at your own pleasure; but you shall not put any in your vessel.


The children of Yisra'el didn't strike them, because the princes of the congregation had sworn to them by the LORD, the God of Yisra'el. All the congregation murmured against the princes.


It happened, when he saw her, that he tore his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! you have brought me very low, and you are one of those who trouble me; for I have opened my mouth to the LORD, and I can't go back.


She vowed a vow, and said, the LORD of Armies, if you will indeed look on the affliction of your handmaid, and remember me, and not forget your handmaid, but will give to your handmaid a boy, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come on his head.


The men of Yisra'el were distressed that day; for Sha'ul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed be the man who eats any food until it be evening, and I be avenged on my enemies. So none of the people tasted food.
