Ya`akov loved Rachel. He said, *I will serve you seven years for Rachel, your younger daughter.*


Ya`akov served seven years for Rachel. They seemed to him but a few days, for the love he had for her.


She conceived again, and bare a son, and said, *Because the LORD has heard that I am hated, he has therefore given me this son also.* She named him Shim`on.


Rechav`am appointed Aviyah the son of Ma`akhah to be chief, [even] the prince among his brothers; for [he was minded] to make him king.


then it shall be, in the day that he causes his sons to inherit that which he has, that he may not make the son of the beloved the firstborn before the son of the hated, who is the firstborn:


and he had two wives; the name of the one was Channah, and the name of other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Channah had no children.
