The LORD said to her, Two nations are in your womb. Two peoples will be separated from your body. The one people will be stronger than the other people. The elder will serve the younger.


Esav lived in the hill country of Se`ir. Esav is Edom.


Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed. Trembling takes hold of the mighty men of Mo'av. All the inhabitants of Kena`an are melted away.


Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone-- until your people pass over, LORD, until the people pass over who you have purchased.


Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.


He said to them, *Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man's life doesn't consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.*


Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise;


You have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.


You shall not abhor an Edomite; for he is your brother: you shall not abhor an Egyptian, because you lived as a foreigner in his land.


that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world,


Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
