Whoever sheds man's blood, his blood will be shed by man, for God made man in his own image.


Behold, the whole family is risen against your handmaid, and they say, Deliver him who struck his brother, that we may kill him for the life of his brother whom he killed, and so destroy the heir also. Thus will they quench my coal which is left, and will leave to my husband neither name nor remainder on the surface of the earth.


There was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David sought the face of the LORD. The LORD said, It is for Sha'ul, and for his bloody house, because he put to death the Giv`onim.


They buried the bones of Sha'ul and Yonatan his son in the country of Binyamin in Zela, in the tomb of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. After that God was entreated for the land.


The king said to him, Do as he has said, and fall on him, and bury him; that you may take away the blood, which Yo'av shed without cause, from me and from my father's house.


No eye pitied you, to do any of these things to you, to have compassion on you; but you were cast out in the open field, for that your person was abhorred, in the day that you were born.


*'He who strikes any man mortally shall surely be put to death.


He who kills an animal shall make it good; and he who kills a man shall be put to death.


Moreover you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death; but he shall surely be put to death.


you shall not consent to him, nor listen to him; neither shall your eye pity him, neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him:


then the elders of his city shall send and bring him there, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.


Your eyes shall not pity; life [shall go] for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.


So shall you put away the innocent blood from the midst of you, when you shall do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD.


then you shall cut off her hand, your eye shall have no pity.


You shall consume all the peoples who the LORD your God shall deliver to you; your eye shall not pity them: neither shall you serve their gods; for that will be a snare to you.


and when the LORD your God shall deliver them up before you, and you shall strike them; then you shall utterly destroy them: you shall make no covenant with them, nor show mercy to them;
