Then Adoniyahu the son of Chaggit exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.


Shlomo had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.


Now therefore command you that they cut me cedar trees out of Levanon; and my servants shall be with your servants; and I will give you hire for your servants according to all that you shall say: for you know that there is not among us any who knows how to cut timber like the Tzidonim.


The horses which Shlomo had were brought out of Egypt and from Kue; the king's merchants purchased them from Kue.


Shlomo had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Yerushalayim.


Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust the name of the LORD our God.


It happened, when Par`oh had let the people go, that God didn't lead them by the way of the land of the Pelishtim, although that was near; for God said, *Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and they return to Egypt;*

Their land is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures. Their land also is full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots.

The LORD will bring you into Egypt again with ships, by the way of which I said to you, You shall see it no more again: and there you shall sell yourselves to your enemies for bondservants and for bondmaids, and no man shall buy you.


He said, This will be the manner of the king who shall reign over you: he will take your sons, and appoint them to him, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and they shall run before his chariots;
