If it please the king, let a royal mitzvah go from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Paras and the Madai, so that it cannot be altered, that Vashti may never again come before King Achashverosh; and let the king give her royal estate to another who is better than she.


Then the king's scribes were called in on the first month, on the thirteenth day of the month; and all that Haman commanded was written to the king's satraps, and to the governors who were over every province, and to the princes of every people, to every province according its writing, and to every people in their language. It was written in the name of King Achashverosh, and it was sealed with the king's ring.


He wrote in the name of King Achashverosh, and sealed it with the king's ring, and sent letters by courier on horseback, riding on royal horses that were bread from swift steeds.


Ester spoke yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and begged him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews.

The king answered, The thing is true, according to the law of the Madai and Paras, which doesn't alter.


Then these men assembled together to the king, and said to the king, Know, O king, that it is a law of the Madai and Paras, that no interdict nor statute which the king establishes may be changed.


Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
