The king of Ashur carried Yisra'el away to Ashur, and put them in Chalach, and on the Chavor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Madai,


because they didn't obey the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed his covenant, even all that Moshe the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear it, nor do it.


to deprive the needy from justice, and to rob the poor among my people of their rights, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!


who cause a person to be indicted by a word, and lay a snare for the arbiter in the gate, and who deprive the innocent of justice with false testimony.


Behold, therefore, I have struck my hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at your blood which has been in the midst of you.


and have cast lots for my people, and have given a boy for a prostitute, and sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.


and have sold the children of Yehudah and the children of Yerushalayim to the sons of the Greeks, that you may remove them far from their border.


Their buyers slaughter them, and go unpunished. Those who sell them say, 'Blessed be the LORD, for I am rich;' and their own shepherds don't pity them.
