It happened, at the return of the year, at the time when kings go out [to battle], that David sent Yo'av, and his servants with him, and all Yisra'el; and they destroyed the children of `Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Yerushalayim.


Now Yo'av fought against Rabbah of the children of `Ammon, and took the royal city.


He brought forth the people who were therein, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the brick kiln: and thus did he to all the cities of the children of `Ammon. David and all the people returned to Yerushalayim.


It happened, at the time of the return of the year, at the time when kings go out [to battle], that Yo'av led forth the army, and wasted the country of the children of `Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Yerushalayim. Yo'av struck Rabbah, and overthrew it.


As often as the shofar sounds he snorts, 'Aha!' He smells the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.


so pursue them with your tempest, and terrify them with your storm.


She will be visited by the LORD of Armies with thunder, with earthquake, with great noise, with whirlwind and storm, and with the flame of a devouring fire.


The LORD will cause his glorious voice to be heard, and will show the descent of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and the flame of a devouring fire, with a blast, storm, and hailstones.

therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand on you, and will deliver you for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries: I will destroy you; and you shall know that I am the LORD.


At the time of the end shall the king of the south contend with him; and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass through.


but I will send a fire on Mo'av, and it will devour the palaces of Keriyot; and Mo'av will die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the shofar;


*but I will scatter them with a whirlwind among all the nations which they have not known. Thus the land was desolate after them, so that no man passed through nor returned: for they made the pleasant land desolate.*


(For only `Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Refa'im; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; isn't it in Rabbah of the children of `Ammon? nine cubits was the length of it, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.)
