Haman said to King Achashverosh, *There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom, and their laws are different than other people's. They don's keep they the king's laws. Therefore it is not for the king's profit to allow them.


When he was in the gate of Binyamin, a captain of the guard was there, whose name was Yeriyah, the son of Shelemyahu, the son of Chananyah; and he laid hold on Yirmeyahu the prophet, saying, You are falling away to the Kasdim.


Then the princes said to the king, Let this man, we pray you, be put to death; because he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words to them: for this man doesn't seek the welfare of this people, but the hurt.


Then Amatzyah the Kohen of Beit-El sent to Yarov`am king of Yisra'el, saying, *`Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Yisra'el. The land is not able to bear all his words.


It is enough for the talmid that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Ba`al-Zibbul, how much more those of his household!


and came and lived in a city called Natzeret; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets: *He will be called a Natzri.*


saying, *Ha! What do we have to do with you, Yeshua, you Natzri? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!*


one who was thrown into prison for a certain revolt in the city, and for murder.


They began to accuse him, saying, *We found this man perverting the nation, forbidding paying taxes to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Messiah, a king.*


He released him who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, for whom they asked, but he delivered Yeshua up to their will.


But they insisted, saying, *He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Yehudah, beginning from the Galil even to this place.*


But some of the sect of the Perushim who believed rose up, saying, *It is necessary to circumcise them, and to charge them to keep the Torah of Moshe.*


crying out, *Men of Yisra'el, help! This is the man who teaches all men everywhere against the people, and the Torah, and this place. Moreover, he also brought Greeks into the temple, and has defiled this holy place!*


They listened to him until he said that; then they lifted up their voice, and said, *Rid the earth of this fellow, for he isn't fit to live!*


But this I confess to you, that after the Way, which they call a sect, so I serve the God of our fathers, believing all things which are according to the Torah, and which are written in the prophets;


But, that I don't delay you, I entreat you to bear with us and hear a few words.


When he had come, the Judeans who had come down from Yerushalayim stood around him, bringing against him many and grievous charges which they could not prove,


having known me from the first, if they are willing to testify, that after the strictest sect of our religion I lived a Parush.


But we desire to hear from you what you think. For, as concerning this sect, it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against.*


But the Kohen Gadol rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Tzedukim), and they were filled with jealousy,


and set up false witnesses who said, *This man never stops speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the Torah.


For there also must be factions among you, that those who are approved may be revealed among you.


Being defamed, we entreat. We are made as the filth of the world, the dirt wiped off by all, even until now.


For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.
