All the men of his house, those born in the house, and those bought with money of a foreigner, were circumcised with him.


For I have known him, to the end that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that the LORD may bring on Avraham that which he has spoken of him.*


Therefore go, and make talmidim of all nations, immersing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,


Behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue, Ya'ir by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet,


While he was still speaking, they came from the synagogue ruler's house saying, *Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Rabbi any more?*


a devout man, and one who feared God with all his house, who gave gifts for the needy generously to the people, and always prayed to God.


who will speak to you words by which you will be saved, you and all your house.'


After the reading of the Torah and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, *Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, speak.*

After these things Sha'ul departed from Athens, and came to Korint.

Erastus remained at Korint, but I left Trophimus at Miletus sick.


If it seem evil to you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amori, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
