The LORD said, *What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to me from the ground.


Whoever sheds man's blood, his blood will be shed by man, for God made man in his own image.


David said to him, Your blood be on your head; for your mouth has testified against you, saying, I have slain the LORD's anointed.


The LORD has returned on you all the blood of the house of Sha'ul, in whose place you have reigned; and the LORD has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Avshalom your son; and behold, you are [taken] in your own mischief, because you are a man of blood.


When Aviner was returned to Chevron, Yo'av took him aside into the midst of the gate to speak with him quietly, and struck him there in the body, so that he died, for the blood of `Asa'el his brother.


let it fall on the head of Yo'av, and on all his father's house; and let there not fail from the house of Yo'av one who has an issue, or who is a leper, or who leans on a staff, or who falls by the sword, or who lacks bread.


*One who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death,


So you shall not pollute the land in which you are: for blood, it pollutes the land; and no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him who shed it.


So when Pilate saw that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, *I am innocent of the blood of this righteous person. You see to it.*
