Then your handmaid said, Please let the word of my lord the king be comfortable; for as an angel of God, so is my lord the king to discern good and bad: and the LORD your God be with you.

So Mefivoshet lived in Yerushalayim; for he ate continually at the king's table. He was lame in both his feet.


The king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Sha'ul, that I may show the kindness of God to him? Tziva said to the king, Yonatan has yet a son, who is lame of his feet.


I will silence whoever secretly slanders his neighbor. I won't tolerate one who is haughty and conceited.


He who doesn't slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his friend, nor casts slurs against his fellow man;


*You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.


Take you heed everyone of his neighbor, and don't you trust in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go about with slanders.


Akhish answered David, I know that you are good in my sight, as an angel of God: notwithstanding the princes of the Pelishtim have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle.
