David said to all his servants who were with him at Yerushalayim, Arise, and let us flee; for else none of us shall escape from Avshalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us quickly, and bring down evil on us, and strike the city with the edge of the sword.


Behold, I will stay at the fords of the wilderness, until word comes from you to inform me.*


Don't you have Tzadok and Avyatar the Kohanim there with you? therefore it shall be, that whatever thing you shall hear out of the king's house, you shall tell it to Tzadok and Avyatar the Kohanim.


Don't let them say in their heart, *Aha! That's the way we want it!* Don't let them say, *We have swallowed him up!*


*I would hurry to a shelter from the stormy wind and storm.*


My enemies want to swallow me up all day long, for they are many who fight proudly against me.


He will send from heaven, and save me, he rebukes the one who is pursuing me. Selah. God will send out his loving kindness and his truth.


But when this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: *Death is swallowed up in victory.*


For indeed we who are in this tent do groan, being burdened; not that we desire to be unclothed, but that we desire to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
