This is what the LORD says: 'Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house; and I will take your wives before your eyes, and give them to your neighbor, and he will lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.


The king's servants said to the king, Behold, your servants are ready to do whatever my lord the king shall choose.


Avshalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why don't you speak a word of bringing the king back?


All the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Yisra'el, saying, The king delivered us out of the hand of our enemies, and he saved us out of the hand of the Pelishtim; and now he is fled out of the land from Avshalom.
