it happened on the third day, that behold, a man came out of the camp from Sha'ul, with his clothes torn, and dirt on his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance.


David said to him, How went the matter? Please tell me. He answered, The people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Sha'ul and Yonatan his son are dead also.


But he went in, and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, Whence come you, Gechazi? He said, Your servant went no where.


David said to him, To whom belong you? and whence are you? He said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an `Amaleki; and my master left me, because three days ago I fell sick.
