It shall happen, that he who escapes from the sword of Chaza'el shall Yehu kill; and he who escapes from the sword of Yehu shall Elisha kill.


So the king of Yisra'el and Yehoshafat the king of Yehudah went up to Ramot Gil`ad.


Ben-Gever, in Ramot Gil`ad (to him [pertained] the towns of Ya'ir the son of Menasheh, which are in Gil`ad; [even] to him [pertained] the region of Argov, which is in Bashan, sixty great cities with walls and bronze bars);


He went and sent to Yehoshafat the king of Yehudah, saying, The king of Mo'av has rebelled against me: will you go with me against Mo'av to battle? He said, I will go up: I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.


It happened on the next day, that he took the coverlet, and dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died: and Chaza'el reigned in his place.


King Yoram returned to be healed in Yizre`el of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Chaza'el king of Syria. Achazyah the son of Yehoram king of Yehudah went down to see Yoram the son of Ach'av in Yizre`el, because he was sick.


Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, Gird up your waist, and take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramot Gil`ad.


So Yehu the son of Yehoshafat the son of Nimshi conspired against Yoram. (Now Yoram was keeping Ramot Gil`ad, he and all Yisra'el, because of Chaza'el king of Syria;


but king Yoram was returned to be healed in Yizre`el of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Chaza'el king of Syria.) Yehu said, If this be your mind, then let none escape and go forth out of the city, to go to tell it in Yizre`el.


So Yehu rode in a chariot, and went to Yizre`el; for Yoram lay there. Achazyah king of Yehudah was come down to see Yoram.


It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw Yehoshafat, that they said, It is the king of Yisra'el. Therefore they turned about to fight against him: but Yehoshafat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them [to depart] from him.


Yehu the son of Chanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Yehoshafat, Should you help the wicked, and love those who hate the LORD? for this thing wrath is on you from before the LORD.


He walked also after their counsel, and went with Yehoram the son of Ach'av king of Yisra'el to war against Chaza'el king of Syria at Ramot Gil`ad: and the Syrians wounded Yoram.


Beyond the Yarden at Yericho eastward, they assigned Betzer in the wilderness in the plain out of the tribe of Re'uven, and Ramot in Gil`ad out of the tribe of Gad, and Galon in Bashan out of the tribe of Menasheh.


Out of the tribe of Gad, Ramot in Gil`ad with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Machanayim with its suburbs,
