Kayin said to the LORD, *My punishment is greater than I can bear.


The king of Yisra'el said, Alas! for the LORD has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Mo'av.


Elisha said, Hear you the word of the LORD: thus says the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be [sold] for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Shomron.


But put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will renounce you to your face.*


He said, *Naked I came out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD.*


That you turn your spirit against God, and let such words go out of your mouth?


But put forth your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will renounce you to your face.*


Then his wife said to him, *Do you still maintain your integrity? Renounce God, and die.*


Wait for the LORD. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the LORD.


Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him. Don't fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.


For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the LORD shall inherit the land.


My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him.


The foolishness of man subverts his way; his heart rages against the LORD.


You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect shalom, because he trusts in you.


Who is among you who fears the LORD, who obeys the voice of his servant? He who walks in darkness, and has no light, let him trust in the name of the LORD, and rely on his God.

Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?


You, son of man, tell the house of Yisra'el: Thus you speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are on us, and we pine away in them; how then can we live?


Does the shofar alarm sound in a city, without the people being afraid? Does evil happen to a city, and the LORD hasn't done it?


For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won't prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won't delay.


He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up,


that no advantage may be gained over us by Hasatan; for we are not ignorant of his schemes.


so that on the contrary you should rather forgive him and comfort him, lest by any means such a one should be swallowed up with his excessive sorrow.


Then said Sha'ul to his armor bearer, Draw your sword, and thrust me through therewith, lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armor bearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Sha'ul took his sword, and fell on it.
