He will give Yisra'el up because of the sins of Yarov`am, which he has sinned, and with which he has made Yisra'el to sin.


But he walked in the way of the kings of Yisra'el, yes, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Yisra'el.


The LORD spoke by his servants the prophets, saying,


Menasheh seduced Yehudah and the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, so that they did evil more than did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Yisra'el.


but they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and scoffed at his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, until there was no remedy.


Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against you, and cast your law behind their back, and killed your prophets that testified against them to turn them again to you, and they committed awful blasphemies.


The wicked walk on every side, when what is vile is exalted among the sons of men.


I am the LORD, your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.


If a ruler listens to lies, all of his officials are wicked.


and you shall know that I am the LORD: for you have not walked in my statutes, neither have you executed my ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you.


Yet have you not walked in their ways, nor done after their abominations; but, as [if that were] a very little [thing], you were more corrupt than they in all your ways.


You shall say, Thus says the Lord GOD: A city that sheds blood in the midst of her, that her time may come, and that makes idols against herself to defile her!


She has rebelled against my ordinances in doing wickedness more than the nations, and against my statutes more than the countries that are round about her; for they have rejected my ordinances, and as for my statutes, they have not walked in them.


Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you are turbulent more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my ordinances, neither have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you;


neither have we listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.


Efrayim is oppressed, he is crushed in judgment; Because he is intent in his pursuit of idols.


*Yerushalayim, Yerushalayim, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!


If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.


To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn't do it, to him it is sin.


But I have this against you, that you tolerate your woman, Izevel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.


But the people refused to listen to the voice of Shemu'el; and they said, No: but we will have a king over us,
