Avraham called the name of that place the LORD Will Provide. As it is said to this day, *On the LORD's mountain, it will be provided.*


It may be that the LORD will look on the wrong done to me, and that the LORD will requite me good for [his] cursing of me this day.


Now in the fourteenth year of king Chizkiyahu did Sancheriv king of Ashur come up against all the fortified cities of Yehudah, and took them.


Incline your ear, LORD, and hear; open your eyes, LORD, and see; and hear the words of Sancheriv, with which he has sent him to defy the living God.


Whom have you defied and blasphemed? and against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes on high? [even] against the Holy One of Yisra'el.


By your messengers you have defied the Lord, and have said, With the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Levanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars of it, and the choice fir trees of it; and I will enter into his farthest lodging place, the forest of his fruitful field.


They said to him, Thus says Chizkiyahu, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of rejection; for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.


The remnant that has escaped of the house of Yehudah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.


For out of Yerushalayim shall go forth a remnant, and out of Mount Tziyon those who shall escape: the zeal of the LORD shall perform this.


So the servants of king Chizkiyahu came to Yeshaiyahu.


Chizkiyahu the king, and Yeshaiyahu the prophet the son of Amotz, prayed because of this, and cried to heaven.


Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.*


You have done these things, and I kept silent. You thought that the 'I AM' was just like you. I will rebuke you, and accuse you in front of your eyes.


Remember this, that the enemy has mocked you, LORD. Foolish people have blasphemed your name.


Unless the LORD of Armies had left to us a very small remnant, we would have been as Sedom; we would have been like `Amorah.


I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people who anger me will I give him a charge to take the spoil and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.


The burden of the LORD shall you mention no more: for every man's own word shall be his burden; for you have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of Armies our God.


Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great things, and difficult, which you don't know.


and said to them, Thus says the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, to whom you sent me to present your supplication before him:


Thus says the Lord GOD: For this, moreover, will I be inquired of by the house of Yisra'el, to do it for them: I will increase them with men like a flock.


Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.


Yeshaiyahu cries concerning Yisra'el, *If the number of the children of Yisra'el are as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant who will be saved;


For the LORD will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that [their] power is gone, There is none [remaining], shut up or left at large.


Now therefore give me this hill country, of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the `Anakim were there, and cities great and fortified: it may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as the LORD spoke.


Yehoshua said, Hereby you shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Kena`ani, and the Chittite, and the Chivvi, and the Perizzi, and the Girgashi, and the Amori, and the Yevusi.


Yonatan said to the young man who bore his armor, Come, and let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us; for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.


The Pelishti said, I defy the armies of Yisra'el this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.


David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man who kills this Pelishti, and takes away the reproach from Yisra'el? for who is this uncircumcised Pelishti, that he should defy the armies of the living God?


Then said David to the Pelishti, You come to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a javelin: but I come to you in the name of the LORD of Armies, the God of the armies of Yisra'el, whom you have defied.
