18 Yeho'ash king of Yehudah took all the holy things that Yehoshafat and Yehoram and Achazyah, his fathers, kings of Yehudah, had dedicated, and his own holy things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and of the king's house, and sent it to Chaza'el king of Syria: and he went away from Yerushalayim.

Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants; and king Asa sent them to Ben-Hadad, the son of Tavrimon, the son of Chezyon, king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,


Now the rest of the acts of Yo'ash, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Yehudah?


Yeho'ash said to the Kohanim, All the money of the holy things that is brought into the house of the LORD, in current money, the money of the persons for whom each man is rated, and all the money that it comes into any man's heart to bring into the house of the LORD,


He took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, the hostages also, and returned to Shomron.


Achaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and sent it for a present to the king of Ashur.


Chaza'el said, Why weeps my lord? He answered, Because I know the evil that you will do to the children of Yisra'el: their strongholds will you set on fire, and their young men will you kill with the sword, and will dash in pieces their little ones, and rip up their women with child.


Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent to Ben-Hadad king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,


Now after the death of Yehoiada came the princes of Yehudah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king listened to them.


Because you have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried my finest treasures into your temples,
