The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me. His word was on my tongue.


Behold, there came a man of God out of Yehudah by the word of the LORD to Beit-El: and Yarov`am was standing by the altar to burn incense.


So he left there, before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, Asaf and his brothers, to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required;


and with them Heman and Yedutun [with] trumpets and cymbals for those that should sound aloud, and [with] instruments for the songs of God; and the sons of Yedutun to be at the gate.


Now David was old and full of days; and he made Shlomo his son king over Yisra'el.


These were the divisions of the sons of Aharon. The sons of Aharon: Nadav and Avihu, El`azar and Itamar.


David with Tzadok of the sons of El`azar, and Achimelekh of the sons of Itamar, divided them according to their ordering in their service.


Moreover, David and the captains of the army set apart for the service certain of the sons of Asaf, and of Heman, and of Yedutun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of those who did the work according to their service was:


For the divisions of the doorkeepers: of the Korchi, Meshelemyah the son of Kore, of the sons of Asaf.


All this, [said David], have I been made to understand in writing from the hand of the LORD, even all the works of this pattern.


The porters: Shallum, and `Akkuv, and Talmon, and Achiman, and their brothers (Shallum was the chief),


On the four sides were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.


He set the porters at the gates of the house of the LORD, that no one who was unclean in anything should enter in.


This is the thing that you shall do: a third part of you, who come in on the Shabbat, of the Kohanim and of the Levites, shall be porters of the thresholds;


He set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the mitzvah of David, and of Gad the king's seer, and Natan the prophet; for the mitzvah was of the LORD by his prophets.


Chizkiyahu appointed the divisions of the Kohanim and the Levites after their divisions, every man according to his service, both the Kohanim and the Levites, for burnt offerings and for shalom offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of the LORD.


So the service was prepared, and the Kohanim stood in their place, and the Levites by their divisions, according to the king's mitzvah.


The singers the sons of Asaf were in their place, according to the mitzvah of David, and Asaf, and Heman, and Yedutun the king's seer; and the porters were at every gate: they didn't need to depart from their service; for their brothers the Levites prepared for them.


Prepare yourselves after your fathers' houses by your divisions, according to the writing of David king of Yisra'el, and according to the writing of Shlomo his son.


It happened, when the Kohanim were come out of the holy place, (for all the Kohanim who were present had sanctified themselves, and did not keep their divisions;


They didn't depart from the mitzvah of the king to the Kohanim and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.


They set the Kohanim in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Yerushalayim; as it is written in the book of Moshe.


The chiefs of the Levites: Chashavyah, Sherevyah, and Yeshua the son of Kadmi'el, with their brothers over against them, to praise and give thanks, according to the mitzvah of David the man of God, watch next to watch.


Mattanyah, and Bakbukyah, `Ovadyah 1, Meshullam, Talmon, `Akkuv, were porters keeping the watch at the storehouses of the gates.


and his brothers, Shemayah, and `Azar'el, Milalai, Gilalai, Ma`ai, Netan'el 1, and Yehudah, Chanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe was before them.


There was in the days of Herod, the king of Yehudah, a certain Kohen named Zekharyah, of the priestly division of Aviyah. He had a wife of the daughters of Aharon, and her name was Elisheva.


Now it happened, while he executed the Kohen's office before God in the order of his division,


When he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, to whom he also testified, 'I have found David the son of Yishai, a man after my heart, who will do all my will.'


For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, and was laid with his fathers, and saw decay.


This is the blessing, with which Moshe the man of God blessed the children of Yisra'el before his death.
