He cried against the altar by the word of the LORD, and said, altar, altar, thus says the LORD: Behold, a son shall be born to the house of David, Yoshiyahu by name; and on you shall he sacrifice the Kohanim of the high places who burn incense on you, and men's bones shall they burn on you.


They broke down the pillar of Ba`al, and broke down the house of Ba`al, and made it a latrine, to this day.


He removed the high places, and broke the pillars, and cut down the Asherah: and he broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moshe had made; for to those days the children of Yisra'el did burn incense to it; and he called it Nechushtan 1.


Turn back, and tell Chizkiyahu the prince of my people, Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears: behold, I will heal you; on the third day you shall go up to the house of the LORD.


He broke in pieces the pillars, and cut down the Asherim, and filled their places with the bones of men.


The king commanded Chilkiyah the Kohen Gadol, and the Kohanim of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Ba`al, and for the Asherah, and for all the army of the sky, and he burned them outside of Yerushalayim in the fields of the Kidron, and carried the ashes of them to Beit-El.


David said, Shlomo my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.


You, Shlomo my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: if you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.


David the king said to all the assembly, Shlomo my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.


He built fortified cities in Yehudah; for the land was quiet, and he had no war in those years, because the LORD had given him rest.


and he went out to meet Asa, and said to him, Hear you me, Asa, and all Yehudah and Binyamin: the LORD is with you, while you are with him; and if you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.


They arose and took away the altars that were in Yerushalayim, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron.


He took away the foreign gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mountain of the house of the LORD, and in Yerushalayim, and cast them out of the city.


Nevertheless the people sacrificed still in the high places, but only to the LORD their God.


He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Menasheh his father; and Amon sacrificed to all the engraved images which Menasheh his father had made, and served them.


Yoshiyahu took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of Yisra'el, and made all who were found in Yisra'el to serve, even to serve the LORD their God. All his days they didn't depart from following the LORD, the God of their fathers.


How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.


For you are my hope, Lord GOD; my confidence from my youth.


but you shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and you shall cut down their Asherim;


Even a child makes himself known by his doings, whether his work is pure, and whether it is right.


I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.


Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw near, when you will say, *I have no pleasure in them;*


I will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and cast your dead bodies upon the bodies of your idols; and my soul will abhor you.


*All this is for the disobedience of Ya`akov, and for the sins of the house of Yisra'el. What is the disobedience of Ya`akov? Isn't it Shomron? And what are the high places of Yehudah? Aren't they Yerushalayim?


But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.


From infancy, you have known the sacred writings which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Messiah Yeshua.
