6 So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Yisra'el and Yehudah, and according to the mitzvah of the king, saying, You children of Yisra'el, turn again to the LORD, the God of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yisra'el, that he may return to the remnant that have escaped of you out of the hand of the kings of Ashur.

6 Under the authority of the king, runners took letters from the king and his officials throughout all Israel and Judah, which read: People of Israel! Return to the LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so that he may return to those of you who remain, who have escaped capture by the Assyrian kings.

The God of Yisra'el stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Ashur, and the spirit of Tilgat-Pilne'eser king of Ashur, and he carried them away, even the Re'uveni, and the Gadi, and the half-tribe of Menasheh, and brought them to Chalach, and Chavor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, to this day.

Don't you be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying: Thus says the LORD of Armies, 'Return now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings;' but they did not hear, nor listen to me, says the LORD.
