The king stood by the pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his mitzvot, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all [his] heart, and all [his] soul, to confirm the words of this covenant that were written in this book: and all the people stood to the covenant.


Then they hurried, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the shofar, saying, Yehu is king.


Yoram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Achazyah, There is treachery, Achazyah.


Moreover those who were near to them, [even] as far as Yissakhar and Zevulun and Naftali, brought bread on donkeys, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, food of meal, cakes of figs, and clusters of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep in abundance: for there was joy in Yisra'el.

When `Atalyah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of the LORD:


Yehoiada the Kohen brought out the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, Have her forth between the ranks; and whoever follows her, let him be slain with the sword: for the Kohen said, Don't kill her in the house of the LORD.


The king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his mitzvot, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.


There they were in great fear, for God is in the generation of the righteous.


When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting.


When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.


For man also doesn't know his time. As the fish that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, even so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly on them.


The prince shall enter by the way of the porch of the gate outside, and shall stand by the post of the gate; and the Kohanim shall prepare his burnt offering and his shalom offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate: then he shall go forth; but the gate shall not be shut until the evening.


So the people took food in their hand, and their trumpets; and he sent all the men of Yisra'el every man to his tent, but retained the three hundred men: and the camp of Midyan was beneath him in the valley.
