2 Chronicles 20:8
7 Tagairtí Cros

Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him incense of sweet spices, and for the continual show bread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Shabbatot, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts of the LORD our God. This is [an ordinance] forever to Yisra'el.

Did not you, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Yisra'el, and give it to the seed of Avraham your friend forever?

If evil come on us, the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house, and before you, (for your name is in this house), and cry to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save.

The LORD has performed his word that he spoke; for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Yisra'el, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD, the God of Yisra'el.

Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Yisra'el to build a house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be prince over my people Yisra'el:

but I have chosen Yerushalayim, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Yisra'el.

So the LORD gave to Yisra'el all the land which he swore to give to their fathers; and they possessed it, and lived therein.
