Avram said to Lot, *Please, let there be no strife between me and you, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are relatives.


As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save many people alive.


Then Aviner called to Yo'av, and said, *Shall the sword devour forever? Don't you know that it will be bitterness in the latter end? How long shall it be then, before you bid the people return from following their brothers?*


There went a cry throughout the army about the going down of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his country.


Speak to Rechav`am the son of Shlomo, king of Yehudah, and to all Yisra'el in Yehudah and Binyamin, saying,


The counsel of the LORD stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
