All these are the twelve tribes of Yisra'el, and this is what their father spoke to them and blessed them. He blessed everyone according to his blessing.


To this day they do after the former manner: they don't fear the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law or after the mitzvah which the LORD commanded the children of Ya`akov, whom he named Yisra'el;


But as for the children of Yisra'el who lived in the cities of Yehudah, Rechav`am reigned over them.


But the word of the LORD came to Shemayah the man of God, saying,


Thus says the LORD, You shall not go up, nor fight against your brothers: return every man to his house; for this thing is of me. So they listened to the words of the LORD, and returned from going against Yarov`am.


Moshe wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Yisra'el.
