I am of those who are peaceable and faithful in Yisra'el: you seek to destroy a city and a mother in Yisra'el: why will you swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?


that they may offer sacrifices of sweet savor to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.


Lord, I beg you, let now your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants, who delight to fear your name; and please prosper your servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. Now I was cup bearer to the king.


My son, fear the LORD and the king. Don't join those who are rebellious:


Seek the shalom of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the LORD for it; for in the shalom of it shall you have shalom.


They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the mitzvot and ordinances of the Lord.


Behold, there was a man in Yerushalayim whose name was Shim`on. This man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Yisra'el, and the Holy Spirit was on him.


They said, *Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man and one who fears God, and well spoken of by all the Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to invite you to his house, and to listen to what you say.*


Herein I also practice always having a conscience void of offense toward God and men.


If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.


Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.


and that you make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we charged you;


Follow after shalom with all men, and the sanctification without which no man will see the Lord,
