and he said, The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;


*Do you know the time when the mountain goats give birth? Do you watch when the doe bears fawns?


The high mountains are for the wild goats. The rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers.


Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock. They will hear my words, for they are well spoken.


The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to kill him.


They also who seek after my life lay snares. Those who seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and meditate deceits all day long.


Sha'ul chose him three thousand men of Yisra'el, of which two thousand were with Sha'ul in Mikhmash and in the Mount of Beit-El, and one thousand were with Yonatan in Gevah of Binyamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.


So Sha'ul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Pelishtim: therefore they called that place Sela-Hammachlekot.


Then Sha'ul arose, and went down to the wilderness of Zif, having three thousand chosen men of Yisra'el with him, to seek David in the wilderness of Zif.
