and [as] from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Yisra'el; and I will cause you to rest from all your enemies. Moreover the LORD tells you that the LORD will make you a house.


For you, LORD of Armies, the God of Yisra'el, have revealed to your servant, saying, I will build you a house: therefore has your servant found in his heart to pray this prayer to you.


and Tzadok the Kohen and Natan the prophet have anointed him king in Gichon; and they are come up from there rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that you have heard.


But Tzadok the Kohen, and Benayah the son of Yehoiada, and Natan the prophet, and Shim`i, and Re`i, and the mighty men who belonged to David, were not with Adoniyahu.


It shall be, if you will listen to all that I command you, and will walk in my ways, and do that which is right in my eyes, to keep my statutes and my mitzvot, as David my servant did; that I will be with you, and will build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Yisra'el to you.


The king put Benayah the son of Yehoiada in his room over the army; and Tzadok the Kohen did the king put in the room of Avyatar.


and ate and drink before the LORD on that day with great gladness. They made Shlomo the son of David king the second time, and anointed him to the LORD to be prince, and Tzadok to be Kohen.


He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his seed, forevermore.


The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his Messiah, saying,


It happened, because the midwives feared God, that he gave them families.


I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.


and it shall be to him, and to his seed after him, the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was jealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Yisra'el.


Therefore he was obligated in all things to be made like his brothers, that he might become a merciful and faithful Kohen Gadol in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.


When they came there to the hill, behold, a band of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came mightily on him, and he prophesied among them.


It was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Shemu'el, God gave him another heart: and all those signs happened that day.


Here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose donkey have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I taken a ransom to blind my eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.


Then Shemu'el took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brothers: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily on David from that day forward. So Shemu'el rose up, and went to Ramah.


It shall happen, that everyone who is left in your house shall come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a loaf of bread, and shall say, Please put me into one of the Kohanim' offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread.


Please forgive the trespass of your handmaid: for the LORD will certainly make my lord a sure house, because my lord fights the battles of the LORD; and evil shall not be found in you all your days.


The child Shemu'el ministered to the LORD before `Eli. The word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no frequent vision.


Shemu'el took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a whole burnt offering to the LORD: and Shemu'el cried to the LORD for Yisra'el; and the LORD answered him.


His sons didn't walk in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted justice.


They answered them, and said, He is; behold, [he is] before you: make haste now, for he is come today into the city; for the people have a sacrifice today in the high place:


as soon as you are come into the city, you shall immediately find him, before he goes up to the high place to eat; for the people will not eat until he come, because he does bless the sacrifice; [and] afterwards they eat who are invited. Now therefore get you up; for at this time you shall find him.
