Ya`akov saw the expression on Lavan's face, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.


In times past, even when Sha'ul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Yisra'el: and the LORD your God said to you, You shall be shepherd of my people Yisra'el, and you shall be prince over my people Yisra'el.


Moshe said to the LORD, *Oh, Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.*


For his burning place has long been ready. Yes, for the king it is made ready. He has made its pyre deep and large with fire and much wood. The LORD's breath, like a stream of sulfur, kindles it.


David came to Sha'ul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armor bearer.


It happened on the next day, that an evil spirit from God came mightily on Sha'ul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as he did day by day. Sha'ul had his spear in his hand;


Therefore Sha'ul removed him from him, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people.


Sha'ul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father's house.


Sha'ul listened to the voice of Yonatan: and Sha'ul swore, As the LORD lives, he shall not be put to death.


There was war again: and David went out, and fought with the Pelishtim, and killed them with a great slaughter; and they fled before him.
