The LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart.


The LORD said, *I will destroy man whom I have created from the surface of the ground; man, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them.*


When the angel stretched out his hand toward Yerushalayim to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel who destroyed the people, It is enough; now stay your hand. The angel of the LORD was by the threshing floor of Aravna the Yevusi.


The LORD was angry with Shlomo, because his heart was turned away from the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, who had appeared to him twice,


So Sha'ul died for his trespass which he committed against the LORD, because of the word of the LORD, which he didn't keep; and also because he asked counsel of one who had a familiar spirit, to inquire [thereby],


God sent an angel to Yerushalayim to destroy it: and as he was about to destroy, the LORD saw, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the destroying angel, It is enough; now stay your hand. The angel of the LORD was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Yevusi.


because they turned aside from following him, and wouldn't pay attention to any of his ways,


In return for my love, they are my adversaries; but I am in prayer.


The LORD has sworn, and will not change his mind: *You are a Kohen forever in the order of Malki-Tzedek.*


Streams of tears run down my eyes, because they don't observe your law.


But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, The LORD will lead them away with the workers of iniquity. Shalom be on Yisra'el.


The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit. He has ceased to be wise and to do good.


They turned again and tempted God, and provoked the Holy One of Yisra'el.


but turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers. They were turned aside like a deceitful bow.


Moshe begged the LORD his God, and said, *The LORD, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, that you have brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?


The LORD repented of the evil which he said he would do to his people.


They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear my words; and they are gone after other gods to serve them: the house of Yisra'el and the house of Yehudah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.


But if you will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret for [your] pride; and my eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD's flock is taken captive.


but you turned and profaned my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom you had let go free at their pleasure, to return; and you brought them into subjection, to be to you for servants and for handmaids.


Oh that my head were waters, and my eyes a spring of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!


and let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.


But when the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? None of his righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered: in his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them shall he die.


The LORD relented concerning this. *It shall not be,* says the LORD.


God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. God relented of the disaster which he said he would do to them, and he didn't do it.


He prayed to the LORD, and said, *Please, LORD, wasn't this what I said when I was still in my own country? Therefore I hurried to flee to Tarshish, for I knew that you are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and you relent of doing harm.


those who have turned back from following the LORD, and those who haven't sought the LORD nor inquired after him.


But he who endures to the end, the same will be saved.


But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,


It happened in these days, that he went out to the mountain to pray, and he continued all night in prayer to God.


But the righteous will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.*


Thus says the whole congregation of the LORD, What trespass is this that you have committed against the God of Yisra'el, to turn away this day from following the LORD, in that you have built you an altar, to rebel this day against the LORD?


Moreover as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will instruct you in the good and the right way.


Shemu'el said to Sha'ul, You have done foolishly; you have not kept the mitzvah of the LORD your God, which he commanded you: for now would the LORD have established your kingdom on Yisra'el forever.


Then came the word of the LORD to Shemu'el, saying,


Now go and strike `Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and don't spare them; but kill both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.


Shemu'el came no more to see Sha'ul until the day of his death; for Shemu'el mourned for Sha'ul: and the LORD grieved that he had made Sha'ul king over Yisra'el.


But Sha'ul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and wouldn't utterly destroy them: but everything that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.


The LORD said to Shemu'el, How long will you mourn for Sha'ul, seeing I have rejected him from being king over Yisra'el? fill your horn with oil, and go: I will send you to Yishai the Beit-Hallachmite; for I have provided me a king among his sons.


But the thing displeased Shemu'el, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. Shemu'el prayed to the LORD.
