For they also built them high places, and pillars, and Asherim, on every high hill, and under every green tree;


Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.


But the high places were not taken away: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect with the LORD all his days.


because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and didn't turn aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except only in the matter of Uriyah the Chittite.


Yehoshafat was thirty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-five years in Yerushalayim. His mother's name was `Azuvah the daughter of Shilchi.


Only the people sacrificed in the high places, because there was no house built for the name of the LORD until those days.


However the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.


But if you tell me, We trust in the LORD our God; isn't that he whose high places and whose altars Chizkiyahu has taken away, and has said to Yehudah and to Yerushalayim, You shall worship before this altar in Yerushalayim?


Asa cried to the LORD his God, and said, LORD, there is none besides you to help, between the mighty and him who has no strength: help us, LORD our God; for we rely on you, and in your name are we come against this multitude. LORD, you are our God; don't let man prevail against you.


But the high places were not taken away out of Yisra'el: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.


When Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of `Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Yehudah and Binyamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from the hill country of Efrayim; and he renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.


I will set no vile thing before my eyes. I hate the deeds of faithless men. They will not cling to me.


But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, The LORD will lead them away with the workers of iniquity. Shalom be on Yisra'el.


Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, and doesn't respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.


They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a molten calf, and have worshiped it, and have sacrificed to it, and said, 'These are your gods, Yisra'el, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.'*


A wise son listens to his father's instruction, but a scoffer doesn't listen to rebuke.


Don't turn to the right hand nor to the left. Remove your foot from evil.
