For the battle was there spread over the surface of all the country; and the forest devoured more people that day than the sword devoured.


Ben-Hadad sent to him, and said, The gods do so to me, and more also, if the dust of Shomron shall suffice for handfuls for all the people who follow me.


They killed everyone his man; and the Syrians fled, and Yisra'el pursued them: and Ben-Hadad the king of Syria escaped on a horse with horsemen.


It happened at the return of the year, that Ben-Hadad mustered the Syrians, and went up to Afek, to fight against Yisra'el.


They encamped one over against the other seven days. So it was, that in the seventh day the battle was joined; and the children of Yisra'el killed of the Syrians one hundred thousand footmen in one day.


Mikhayahu said, Behold, you shall see on that day, when you shall go into an inner chamber to hide yourself.


They went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. Now Yehu had appointed him eighty men outside, and said, If any of the men whom I bring into your hands escape, [he who lets him go], his life shall be for the life of him.


When you come there, look out there Yehu the son of Yehoshafat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brothers, and carry him to an inner chamber.


Mikhayahu said, Behold, you shall see on that day, when you shall go into an inner chamber to hide yourself.


With the merciful you will show yourself merciful. With the perfect man, you will show yourself perfect.


It will happen that he who flees from the noise of the fear will fall into the pit; and he who comes up out of the midst of the pit will be taken in the snare; for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.


therefore this iniquity shall be to you like a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly in an instant.


He who flees from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he who gets up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring on him, even on Mo'av, the year of their visitation, says the LORD.
