He went and found his body cast in the way, and the donkey and the lion standing by the body: the lion had not eaten the body, nor torn the donkey.


Get you hence, and turn you eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Kerit, that is before the Yarden.


So he went and did according to the word of the LORD; for he went and lived by the brook Kerit, that is before the Yarden.


Arise, get you to Tzarfat, which belongs to Tzidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you.


When he gives quietness, who then can condemn? When he hides his face, who then can see him? Alike whether to a nation, or to a man,


Who provides for the raven his prey, when his young ones cry to God, and wander for lack of food?


He provides food for the livestock, and for the young ravens when they call.


Then Yonah prayed to the LORD, his God, out of the fish's belly.


Take the rod, and assemble the congregation, you, and Aharon your brother, and speak you to the rock before their eyes, that it give forth its water; and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock; so you shall give the congregation and their livestock drink.


Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him.


But he answered, *It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'*
