All the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.


Forty-one years reigned he in Yerushalayim: and his mother's name was Ma`akhah the daughter of Avishalom.


Three years reigned he in Yerushalayim: and his mother's name was Ma`akhah the daughter of Avishalom.


Bat-Sheva therefore went to king Shlomo, to speak to him for Adoniyahu. The king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself to her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a throne to be set for the king's mother; and she sat on his right hand.


They brought forth the pillars that were in the house of Ba`al, and burned them.


He removed the high places, and broke the pillars, and cut down the Asherah: and he broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moshe had made; for to those days the children of Yisra'el did burn incense to it; and he called it Nechushtan 1.


The king commanded Chilkiyah the Kohen Gadol, and the Kohanim of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Ba`al, and for the Asherah, and for all the army of the sky, and he burned them outside of Yerushalayim in the fields of the Kidron, and carried the ashes of them to Beit-El.


He brought out the Asherah from the house of the LORD, outside of Yerushalayim, to the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and beat it to dust, and cast the dust of it on the graves of the common people.


They broke down the altars of the Ba`alim in his presence; and the incense altars that were on high above them he hewed down; and the Asherim, and the engraved images, and the molten images, he broke in pieces, and made dust of them, and strewed it on the graves [of those] who had sacrificed to them.


He took the calf which they had made, and burnt it with fire, ground it to powder, and scattered it on the water, and made the children of Yisra'el drink of it.


I will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and cast your dead bodies upon the bodies of your idols; and my soul will abhor you.


It will happen that, when anyone still prophesies, then his father and his mother who bore him will tell him, 'You must die, because you speak lies in the name of the LORD;' and his father and his mother who bore him will stab him when he prophesies.


He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn't worthy of me.


When Yeshua had spoken these words, he went out with his talmidim over the brook Kidron, where was a garden, into which he and his talmidim entered.


Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Messiah after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.


But when I saw that they didn't walk uprightly according to the truth of the Good News, I said to Kefa before them all, *If you, being a Jew, live as the Gentiles do, and not as the Jews do, why do you compel the Gentiles to live as the Jews do?


who said of his father, and of his mother, I have not seen him; Neither did he acknowledge his brothers, Nor did he know his own children: For they have observed your word, and keep your covenant.


But thus shall you deal with them: you shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and hew down their Asherim, and burn their engraved images with fire.


I took your sin, the calf which you had made, and burnt it with fire, and stamped it, grinding it very small, until it was as fine as dust: and I cast the dust of it into the brook that descended out of the mountain.


They burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein; only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.
