[he made] three hundred shields of beaten gold; three minas of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Levanon.

For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Chiram: once every three years came the navy of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.


For he built the house of the forest of Levanon; the length of it was one hundred cubits, and the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits, on four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams on the pillars.


They gave them drinks in golden vessels of various kinds, including royal wine in abundance, according to the bounty of the king.


*Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place for gold which they refine.
